Horizon
Single released May 2023

Holding on
To the rope
Clench my fist I
Won't let go
Won't let go
Won't let go
Water's deep
Ocean's cold
Freezing bones
Drowning slow
Lost all hope
Lost all hope
Lost all hope
Still I won't
No I won't
Won't let go
No matter how far
No matter how long
Wave so high
One with the sky
So much sea
So much sea
All around
On my
On my horizon
Horizon
Sailing
On an ocean
Without a shore
Without a shore
I'm lost
Like a soul
Without a hope
Without a hope
No stars
In my sky
Nothing to lead my way home
Nothing to find you by
Nothing to find you by
I'm sailing in the night
In the dark I'm blind
No stars
No stars
In the sky
No stars
No stars
In the sky
Every soul knows the
Truth approach on the horizon
A line straight to the heart
Tied to you
Tied to you
Tied for life
Tied for life
To your heart
To your heart
Like I wish
I was to you
How can you be so sure
This will be
All
Signs were there
Always there
Always there
On the
Signs were there
Always there
Always there
On the
On the horizon

| Home |&nbsp;About |&nbsp;

GUITARS
<img width="600" height="436" width_o="600" height_o="436" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/9e3b5ff8128b60e27fcb589a8cc64ce53dc29365d09c3d749ebfb6679ceec861/IMG_E6983.JPG" data-mid="895542" border="0" />Number 1? The first guitar I made and it’s with me to this day. A DIY Caster modelled after a Telecaster. Why Tele? Joe Strummer of The Clash of course! Not to mention Springsteen. It’s got some old Cat’s Whiskers pickups in it, beautiful sound though it’s not a well known brand. Wasn’t completely happy with the pickguard design. However, the main thing for me, is that it plays well and helps me write. That’s when you know that you’ve got a good one.&nbsp;

<img width="600" height="236" width_o="600" height_o="236" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/3dbb2bb379d15549e300536ebea3e2ef71573e1adf54a9ad7648d10d4bf77f52/PRS-One.jpg" data-mid="897453" border="0" />
This PRS, an SE version mind, has an interesting story. It was the first guitar I kind of played out loud in a guitar store. I liked it a lot but didn’t buy it. Strangely enough, no one else was buying it either as almost a year after I tried it, they reduced the price on it and well, I couldn’t refuse at that point. One P90 pickup, one volume knob, that’s it. All you need to make beautiful sounds. Or loud noise. This isn’t PRS’s most expensive guitar, not by a long shot, but as is usual with them, the quality is impeccable.

<img width="687" height="386" width_o="687" height_o="386" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/a7e4c39c8c6a3d6670871ea5f834f34b557903296db3e4a881836bb6aad87db4/IMG_2770.jpg" data-mid="895517" border="0" />
One of the guitars I use, a Jaguar that gives a great clean and jangly sound. I’ve never been a gear snob, I’ll use what I like, whatever gives me the sound I’m looking for. This guitar combination is something that looked so tempting when it was released and added another sound to my arsenal of noise makers. I changed the stock bridge out which is a common fix to this guitar model.

<img width="600" height="299" width_o="600" height_o="299" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/d9b6111646200cd128d37426543455c2f77117c6e5eaf7c826cfa381f2582120/Ibanez-Hollowbody.jpg" data-mid="895544" border="0" />
The only hollowbody guitar I’ve ever had. This Ibanez has a flavor all its own, very different from all the other solidbody guitars. It can do jazzy sounds of course, but more interestingly, rock’n roll is very cool on a guitar like this.&nbsp;

FX PEDALS
&nbsp;
<img width="960" height="500" width_o="960" height_o="500" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/828fa4e0bd7007af6d0938d4aaae3ba50fe4d899a2fad41e9a59220105f897fc/Pedalboard-Webpic.jpeg" data-mid="895518" border="0" />
What my pedalboard looked like at one point. Changing your fx pedals from time to time is like adding new colors to your palette to inspire you, and help you find new sounds and expressions.

<img width="1172" height="900" width_o="1172" height_o="900" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/ae82730c3ed7c84fc1fdd76af780703c33c81c1fd9df70e39564830d498dc20b/Big-Muff-Website-pic.jpeg" data-mid="895519" border="0" />
Favorite Fuzz pedal of all time! EHX’s venerable ‘Big Muff Pi’, an ingenious 60s/70s invention still going strong today. Used in one form or another by the likes of Hendrix, David Gilmour, Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, Jack White of The White Stripes, the band Dinosaur Jr and many others.

<img width="326" height="400" width_o="326" height_o="400" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/8ec302f472cd3c8a169557560ef6160ba8c3448a9ea8078b9f58f7142d289239/Boss-SD1-Webpic.jpeg" data-mid="895540" border="0" />
The Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive. Boss make some amazing pedals, every guitar (and many bass players) will tell you. Many of the pedals are overdrives and distortions. This one is probably their mildest but it sings and at low gain it works great as a boost.

<img width="500" height="274" width_o="500" height_o="274" src_o="https://cortex.persona.co/t/original/i/53f1b9318520dd4f69216146529e46af455de15465e2de327384906c2ff72838/Philtone-Website-pic.jpeg" data-mid="895541" border="0" />

With a name like ‘Pigtronix’ you might think this is a company that the green pigs from Angry Birds created but no, these are some wizards of pedal making and this one in particular is their award winning compressor which is loaded with extras. It has all the sustain you could dream of, and above all, a ‘Blend’ knob that allows you to keep your original signal in the &nbsp;mix. As if that wasn’t enough, there’s also a germanium distortion built in. Versatility personified. Very underrated pedal.

Music that‘s reminiscent of everything from Joy Division, Tool, The Cure, to Sabbath, and something altogether its own flavor. “Rock by any other name is still rock and Beatles is my starting point anyway. Closely followed by Zeppelin, Sabbath, and The Clash.” Unapologetically and fearlessly drawing inspiration from classic bands. “Great music is great music, regardless of time, space, age and whatever else. I don’t care where, or whom, it comes from as long as it sounds good to me.” The lyrics aren’t simplified, there’s layers here for those who care to listen deeper. “Emotions dressed in sound, isn’t that what music is all about.” Not so much a question as a statement. Originally from Europe, makes his home far out west, by the shores of California. “I’m a nomad, in my life as well as my musical taste. Someday I’ll settle down in my life, musically I hope I never do.”

CURRENT

May 2023. ‘Horizon’ is the newest release. Originally recorded in 2020 and meant to go on an album, but plans change. Sometimes things are apparent, deep in the heart, and other times, on the far horizon. But always there. One way or another, something in us always knows. Whether we choose to listen, or close our ears to it. I guess those choices are what shapes our lives.

March 2023. ‘No Vacancy’ released. A tune I never even thought I would create, let alone put out there. The slowest thing I’ve ever recorded and very different from anything else I’ve ever done. Probably the closest to a “musical” show tune I will ever get.

January 2023. Established in a new city for a year now. Been recording new tunes and a new release is imminent. Keep your eyes peeled and ears open on February 7th, which is

‘International Clash Day’
celebrating “the only band that matters” rather appropriately with a new song release.

2022
November 2022. New music cooking. Watch this space.

January 2022. New year already, time does indeed fly. Living the hotel life. It’s a strange existence, one that can be extremely bad or decent depending on the temporary abode. Can’t shake the feeling of being stranded someplace. When life feels like you’re living in a holding space more acutely than ever. Still writing tunes. &nbsp;

2021

September 2021. New instrumental single ‘Happy Go Lucky (The Squirrel Song)’ released.

About to embark on a move, still in California, headed further south and closer to the ocean. Still chasing clouds.
This unexpected move will delay the album release, but it will be a time to rest, reflect and write even more. Looking for &nbsp;home.
February 2021.&nbsp;New single ‘Hive Mind’ released. Still in Covidian times.

2020

September 2020. Single ‘Circle of Pain’ released. Pandemic still wreaking havoc.

April 2020. Currently working on second release amidst a pandemic and world wide quarantine.
